Watch New Zealand vs Sri Lanka highlights – the Group A game from the 2011 World Cup played on March 18
Scoreline: Sri Lanka 265/9 Sangakkara 111 (128), Mahela 66 (90), Angelo Mathews 41 (35) | Southee 10-63-3, Nathan McCullum 10-48-2
New Zealand 153 all out – Ross Taylor 33 (55) | Muttiah Muralitharan 8-25-4, Mendis 6-24-2
Controversial Moment: SL Bat 1 – 8:05 onwards. Continues in SL Bat 2 with Mahela’s post-innings comment on the Nathan McCullum catch included
If Muttiah with a (minor) hamstring tear is sufficient for NZ, all my rising hopes about a resurgent NZ make me feel foolish.
Wow…NZ got a taste of their own medicine….
good game this will determine who is going to finish on top
Actually not this game. SL is going to be 2nd regardless of whether Aus or Pak win tomorrow. If the match is cancelled due to bad weather which is highly likely then you end up with this:
1.Australia
2. SL
3. Pak
4. NZ
If Pak ends up at 3, they are so going up against India in QF. If the game commences tomorrow then Pak could be 4 or 1..if 4 they are going up against SA unless they lose to Bangla which is highly unlikely.
I thought that was clean catch. There doesn’t seem to be any doubt in that catch and should’ve been given out. Disappointing decision from Amish Saheba..
@Admin..thanks for posting the video dude..YOU ROCK….!!We used to have Helen Clark as our prime minister.Im certain she would have hit more boundaries than John key.It was good to see the opposition minister coming out to cheer the Prime Minister on as well..Good stuff.!
This was a fundraising match to raise money for earthquake victims of Christchurch between Wellington and Canterbury with a host of celebrities featuring.
KIA KAHA CHRISTCHURCH..!Thanks admin..
New Zealand’s inability to play spin surfaces once again.Murali could have got the entire team out blindfolded and on one leg.He might have actually. What a performer.I’m so glad he’s retiring..!
I hope the Kiwis put this performance behind them really quickly.I also hope Mills and Vettori recover from their injuries. Its really difficult to restrict quality teams when front line bowlers start picking up injuries [Bennett being the latest ]..what a weekend of cricket coming up for teams who haven’t qualified yet, even more the knockout stages with all quality teams having the ability to beat each other on their day.The world cup has come alive..!
Great game. Bennett is a fast bowler and has the pace but usually no line and thats why he got smashed by poor Pakistani batsmen in a couple of odi’s. Once he gets that right even Sehwag will have trouble due to the pace.
