Might not have had the same quality about it, but for me, the Samuels-Ishant duel today was the most fascinating duel since the Tendulkar-Steyn one at Cape Town earlier this year. I guess as a viewer, it helps when you enjoy watching the two players involved. That’s what makes it a duel in the real sense. If two guys are battling each other and you don’t care or care only about one of them, it’s a bit like someone being punched. With no fist around.
From the point of view of getting a result, if one of the teams were having their 2nd inn bat on Day 3, you’d be optimistic. However, given the weather and all, a result would probably depend either on Fidel Edwards getting it together, or a very very attacking declaration by the Indians.
