Australia appear to be easing themselves into the tournament (batting-wise) and not too much should probably be read into their approach today. Haddin on previous tours of India has been one of their better players of spin. Ponting in India in the ODI format is closer to his world-wide cricket persona. In fact, with each return to India, what’s been intriguingly gratifying to watch has been the way he’s slowly let go of trying to be as dominant as he would elsewhere, while focusing on the delicate shots. Quite likely to end the tournament as his team’s highest run-getter. Callum Ferguson who should join for the other games would probably be the best possible replacement for Mike Hussey at this point. And Krejza continues to stand up to attempts to take him down, like he did on his debut a few years back. But you somehow get the feeling that if Aus are to win their 4 WC in a row, it almost single-handedly depends on White regaining his form somewhere along the way.
