One of the exciting things about watching Steve Smith do whatever he does is his underdosed-on-ritalin behaviour. But that look today. I still can’t stop laughing. He’s around 20 or 21 and there was a 16 year old Canadian playing, but he looked the youngest player in the tournament today after that Ponting bump.
Not defending Ponting, but if you just watched that incident in isolation, you’d have missed the fact that his problematic fingers had been giving him some trouble all day and put him in a pretty foul mood before that. I thought he did pretty well to take out his anger on the ball and avoid encountering Smith. But looking at Smith – well, he looked like he wished Ponting had slapped him instead.
lol…Im not a big fan of Ponting’s attitude but he did tell Smith to stay back but for some reason Smith kept coming. Ponting was super pissed off after that which shows that he loses it really quickly just like our beloved pathan Afridi haha. That knock was great from Patel and had Ponting worried. Canada might have the lost score in first 10 overs but they definitely have one of the top 5 scores in the first 10 overs. Great game overall.
Ritalin is used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy ,it increases the activity of chemicals called dopamine and noradrenaline in areas of the brain that play a part in controlling attention and behaviour..
Ritalin is however a prescription medicine and should not be joked about..Im just saying.

just to clarify on the a.d.d. thing – i’ve used the ritalin reference several times here wrt steve smith and always with a sense of fondness and trust me, it’s not condescending or patronizing. in fact, it’s more a personal thing than any of those.
didn’t know it was dislocated (as in, right now). the really great players do that kind of stuff, don’t they. there was this story about one of the west indian bowlers producing a match winning spell with a fractured arm. don’t recall who. and the little known fact about sachin playing the 2003 wc with a fractured toe.
